Understanding how to clean skirting board effectively (and without as much effort as you might think) can be cheap and a really quick job. Scuffs and marks on walls and skirting boards can really affect the look and style of your home. Part of a skirting boards purpose is, of course, to protect the walls from damage, so naturally getting bumped is part of their job description! Like most other pieces of furniture, skirting boards need a bit of TLC every now and again. Here are a few tips on "How to clean skirting boards properly" to help keep them looking brand new for longer:
Remember that our MDF skirting boards are moisture resistant as standard so don’t worry about damaging the boards themselves, just be aware of how your surface finish will react with water and cleaning products. Once you have wiped the skirting boards;
Everyone will have their own little tricks or methods (including white vinegar, washing up liquid and even toothpaste!) so find out what works best for you, as long as it doesn’t damage your paintwork then all is good! Some people just use the brush attachment of their vacuum cleaner, whereas some may choose to use an all-purpose spray and a cloth to wipe down the surface. Throwaway cleaning wipes or even baby wipes could work as well! Non primed skirting may not hold up to cleaning with stronger products that primed or lacquered skirting, make sure you consider this before cleaning your skirting boards! But remember, our skirting is moisture resistant!
